Finding your niche is not as hard as you might think. I am sure you have already been told that to have a successful business on the Internet, you must have a niche. Everything you read on niches just make them sound more confusing and more difficult than they actually are.

I would recommend looking at your hobbies. If you are into stamp collecting, hunting, fishing, taking picture with your camera, working with wood. etc., any one of those could be your niche. Your niche could also be something as simple as selling retail products on the Internet.

Selling retail products on the Internet is not as hard as you might think. There is always ebay. If you have a wholesale supplier that will drop ship your orders straight to your customer in your business name, then you have a niche. There are several wholesalers on the Internet that will drop ship single items directly to your customer and use your business name. This means you don't have to have inventory and you are not required to buy in large quantities because there is no minimum amount you have to purchase to do business with them.

Taking picture can be very lucrative on the Internet because there are pictures all over the Internet. Think about it someone had to take those pictures. On the Internet you will be able to find people who are willing to pay good money for your artwork.

As for stamp collecting, I am sure you could set up a website just for stamp collectors where you and other stamp collectors could buy, sell, or trade stamps. Write articles about your stamp collecting experiences and post them on your website as well as in article directories. You will become known as an expert in stamp collecting.

The same pretty much goes for hunters and fishermen. You could inform other hunters and fishermen about great fishing location or deer leases that are available. Write articles about your fishing or hunting trips and encourage some of your members and visitors to write and submit stories of their own.
